🗡️ Axiom is a tiefling paladin of conquest, currently in service of the Hollow Goddess (a shard of Ea, the Creator God).

when all is lost, when everything you love is burned away by the flames of the Crimson Crown, what is left? Emptiness. Emptiness that cradles you and pulls you down into the embrace of the Hollow Goddess.

🗡️ originally, Ax was the lifeward of the human princess Esther, the heir apparent of a city-state in the western deserts. Esther was kidnapped by followers of Gilgamesh, the ultimate god of Humanity, and sacrificed with many other human leaders as part of their gambit to free Gilgamesh from Hell (where he had been imprisoned for milennia, fighting devils, a la Doom Guy).

🗡️ with no clue as to where her lifeward was, Ax was distraught and needed desperately to find the woman she had to protect (and who she also had a big crush on, like pathetic loser simp levels of crush).

🗡️ this led Ax into the clutches of the Crimson Crown, a devil- and tiefling-led mafia organization that promised to take her to her princess if she did just a few small jobs for them. of course, the devils in the Crimson Crown knew of Esther's fate – but they strung Ax along and used her fighting prowess for their own ends. along the way, Ax fell in love with Blue, a sorceress also indebted to the Family.

️ eventually, Ax found out what the acolytes of Gilgamesh had done, and that the Crimson Crown had been deceiving her. with help from Blue, she killed the leader of the Family and laid waste to as much of its headquarters as possible. during the fighting, Blue was struck down by the devils.

🗡️ Ax had lost everything – her princess, her newfound love, and even the god she had worshipped her entire life. there was no path forward that she could see other than vengeance. and in her weakest moment, she was approached with yet another bargain. the Hollow Goddess, one of the many forms of the primeval creator Ea, came to Ax and bestowed her "blessing."
